Welcome to the Cathleen Tomlinson Dyslexia Support Fund

The Cathleen Tomlinson Dyslexia Fund was created to honor the life, work, and enduring legacy of Cathleen Tomlinson, an extraordinary educator and nationally Certified Academic Language Therapist whose impact shaped the lives of countless children across New Mexico. Cathleen dedicated her life to ensuring that every child, regardless of circumstance, could learn to read, write, and access the academic future they deserved. Her compassion and her expertise continue to guide the mission of this fund today.

This fund exists to support Taos teachers’ training to become dyslexia therapists and Taos students who struggle with dyslexia but do not have access to specialized services in their schools. Through the generous partnership between her former students, colleagues, friends, and the Taos Community Foundation, and with the initial support of the Southwest Branch of the International Dyslexia Association, this work continues in Cathleen’s name. Our purpose is simple and urgent. Every child deserves the chance to read with confidence. Every teacher deserves training that empowers them to identify dyslexia early and respond effectively. Every family deserves support, clarity, and guidance. The Cathleen Tomlinson Dyslexia Fund makes that possible.
